Palm Wows Once Again at CES

Today, Palm had their annual keynote at CES. Here’s a quick rundown of everything they announced as I work on the longer article:

  • Palm Pre Plus on Verizon
  • Palm Pixi Plus on Verizon
  • Tethering on the ‘Plus’ phones only on Verizon
  • Native app writing via PDK (plugin development kit) in C/C++
  • 3D games written in C/C++ using the PDK, available right now in the App Catalog
  • Flash 10.1 support coming to Palm Pres (not Pixis) in form of download from App Catalog
  • Video Recording coming to all Palm phones in February through OTA update
  • SDK now available to general public
  • Desktop Computer App Gallery for browsing through apps (available on PreCentral)
  • Open Web Distribution of apps
  • WebOS 1.4 coming out in February with Flash and Video Recording included

  1. palm didnt wow me at all…

  2. btw are you switching from sprint to go to verizon for the new palm pre?

  3. i could because sprint changed the contract so i could walk without an ETF, but I don't know the prices and Verizon's plans are much more expensive. If it is cheaper to switch to Verizon and I can sell my Pre for a good price, perhaps I wil, but probably not.

  4. Wow, this blog is definately getting bookmarked. Great Info all over the place.
