EXCLUSIVE: Google to launch “instant result” style web search

If you visited Google’s homepage today, chances are you noticed those eccentric dots parading around your screen. Heck, somebody must’ve noticed because today one fifth of Google’s most searched terms were related to the mystery animation!

The good news? I think I’ve figured out what this is all about. I’m pretty sure that tomorrow Google’s going to launch a feature that they’ve been experimenting for a quite a while: as you type, the results for what you’re typing will show up immediately.

As Google told us this morning, “Today’s doodle is fast, fun and interactive, just the way we think search should be.” Hopefully tomorrow’s announcement will reveal a new search that combines all three of those qualities.
