CES Coverage: Panasonic Viera Tablet Hands-On Demo

At last week’s CES events, Panasonic unveiled its line of tablets. And, like 99.9% of the tablet manufacturers these days, they’re using Android to power the entire line. However, unlike the rest of the Android tablets out there, this device, which should launch in 4, 7, and 10 inch flavors, is meant to play nice with Viera Connected TVs.
Essentially, by using the Viera Connect application, you’ll be able to to stream content back and forth between the two devices, including TV and eBooks… although, who really wants to read an eBook on a TV? Users will also have the ability to view certain content, such as sporting events, from different angles. So, in theory, you could have the sideline camera of your favorite team on the big screen and then the end-zone cam on your Viera Tablet. And, of course, the tablet can serve as a visual remote control.
While Panasonic’s supposedly readied the knitty gritty stuff for the folks living in Japan (i.e. price, release, etc), the rest of us in the good ‘ol US of A probaby won’t have a pricepoint for quite a while.
Until then, let the video below be your guide. Enjoy!
