CES Coverage: An Exclusive Look at the Sleek-Audio Line including the ‘Sleek by 50 Cent’ Headphones
The Sleek-Audio Booth at CES was nothing short of sleek. After an impressive ears-on, I was compelled to write a slightly longer recap of the company’s latest and greatest. Sleek’s main attractions included:
- SLEEK Wireless- Using KLEER wireless technology, Sleek has developed a wireless platform that’ll let you jam out to your favorite songs up to 60 feet away from your receiver with up to three of your friends– let’s recap: that’s four people listening to the same stream at once. But, it gets better. Not only is the wireless transmitter compatible with any device that you can plug your earphones into (iDevices, Berrys, Droids, etc.), but it’ll also last you up to ten hours on a single charge. Unlike other battery-dependent headphones, however, you can simply plug your wired connection back into the earbuds once the battery on the wireless portion runs out. The best part about the SLEEK Wireless system? Lossless sound quality. Unlike Bluetooth, which often compresses sound, the KLEER technology allows you to enjoy your music in CD quality. This technology is already integrated into the company’s SA6s, SA1s, and CT6s but will be coming to the SA7s and Sleek by 50 line as well.
- SA7- the SA7s are Sleek’s top of the line headphones. They feature “a milled aluminum core that houses a first-of-its kind custom tuned dual armature driver configuration. The drivers are encased in a layer of silicone, further protected by military-grade carbon fiber sidings and held together with a titanium hexagonal fastener.” Oh, and as we mentioned above, the SA7s will play nice with SLEEK Wireless.
- Sleek by 50 Cent- The moment you’ve all been waiting for… ‘Sleek by 50 Cent.’ In case you didn’t get the memo that in order to be considered a legitimate rapper you must have your own headphone line, let Sleek’s latest announcement serve as a reminder. Jokes aside, the 50 Cent headphones were perhaps the slickest at the show. Launching “around March” for “around $350,” these bad boys were as cool as headphones get. With a promise of illuminated ear cushions and the same leather used to make Aston Martins, I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on a working model. Our eyes-on with these starts at around 3:00 in the video below.
As promised, we took a booth tour. Just beyond the break, we go hands-on with the entire Sleek line including the first prototype of the ‘Sleek by 50 Cent’ headphones!
