CES Coverage: The Xperia Arc Manages to Impress. Don’t Believe Us? Check out our Hands-On

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc was perhaps the slimmest smartphone on the showroom floor at this year’s CES at a mere 8.7 mm. As you’ll see in a second, the Arc, like its cousin the Nexus S, has a concave back.
In terms of screen real estate, the device is well equipped with a spacious 4.2 inch screen. And, according to the PR folk, there’s a Mobile BRAVIA Engine powering the “Reality Display” behind-the-scenes! While I can’t explain what that lingo actually means, know this: the screen is pretty terrific. Colors were vivid and overall the picture was quite crisp.
Other notable features include an 8.3 megapixel Sony Exmor R camera (no front-facing camera, boys and girls), a mini-HDMI port (we highlight this feature in our hands-on), and Android 2.3 compatibility (it was running on the device we saw)!
Hit the break for our hands-on!
